The Dillard House cook book is a wonderful compilation of our traditional, southern cooking recipes that we serve presently in our restaurant and the book also contains intriguing mountain stories during the old days.

Most of the recipes we use today are the same ones Carrie Dillard used back in 1917. Also in 1917, Carrie and Arthur Dillard founded the present Dillard House.

Carrie Dillard was a wonderful cook, a gifted gardener. She cooked, tended her garden, put up jams and relishes.

Now in its 105th year, the Dillard House Inn and Restaurant have become justly famous for featuring the foods, tastes and hospitality that are the result of our two-hundred year heritage.
